Dr. Pierce offers many of the latest, modern surgery techniques in obstetrics and gynecology.
He is a strong proponent for good patient care, working to ensure that patients receive prompt, excellent treatment in all aspects of their experience.

Obstetric Procedures

  • Ultrasound (in office, starts at 4-5 weeks of pregnancy)
  • General Obstetrics (normal patients with low risk factors)
  • Misgav-Ladach Cesarean section (less pain, quicker recovery time, 2 days average in hospital; able to eat promptly after surgery if hungry)
  • In-office hysteroscopy to diagnose bleeding problems.

Gynecology Procedures

  • Mini-laparatomy (small incision) hysterectomy
  • Mini-laparatomy (small incision) myomectomy
  • In-office endometrial biopsy; hysteroscopy; ultrasound (without need to fill bladder)
  • Colposcopy for abnormal pap smears
  • Cervical polyp removal in office
  • Cautery removal of HPV (condyloma or genital warts)
  • In-Hospital Novasure Endometrial ablation (to decrease heavy bleeding without a hysterectomy; see www.novasure.com)

  • Access to an obstetrician/gynecologist with 30 years of delivery and surgical experience.
  • FaceTime available as needed to evaluate problems via live video feed.
  • Texting available as needed.  Always please sign your texts with full name for my record keeping.
  • Access to a physician who is a strong proponent for good patient care and working with insurance companies on a daily basis to be sure patients get the best benefits of their insurance.
  • Prompt treatment of common problems (such as bladder infections, vaginal infections, bad colds, etc.).
  • Counseling by me regarding treatment plans so that patient can thoroughly understand options (with computer typed summaries available immediately to the patient and faxed to her referring physician the same day).
  • Saturday and late Tuesday appointments for patients with busy work schedules.
  • Up to date insurance billing system and verifications of insurance benefits to be able to help our patients get their bills paid quickly.
  • Access to excellent consultants (internal medicine physicians, general surgeons, and so on).
  • Phone triage by staff with more than 20-30 years experience, who have known most of our patients and their families over the years.
  • Working with  registered nurses in the office and other long time staff (more than most solo physician offices).
  • Responding to Primary Care Physician referrals the same day if possible or the next office day.
  • Screening of new appointment calls by me and/or my excellent staff to make sure patients are seen as soon as needed and the same day if urgent or emergency.
  • Seeing patients in the emergency room as needed during off hours.
  • Computer generated follow up letters and recall letters for appointments.
  • Working with the office staff to complete all needed forms for a small fee.
  • I deliver most of my patients when I am in town. I tell patients when I am going to be on vacation.
  • Surgery scheduled in a prompt fashion.
  • E-mail response to questions (that are not of an urgent or emergency nature) from Dr. Pierce.
